Is your back hurting and cracking? Not a good sign. We can’t get out of bed, every step we take is torture, and our performance levels plummet. But we’re not alone. Around 80 to 90 per cent of adults in the West experience back pain at least occasionally. A glimpse at the statistics on people unable to work confirms: back pain is the second most common reason for taking sick leave(1). Spinal disorders have become a commonplace problem.
But we can prevent them and keep our daily lives successfully pain-free for many years if we look after our back early enough.
